Pet Business: Bright Star Buddies, Individualising your Pet’s Style
1. Tell us about Bright Star Buddies
We’re an Australian Premium Pet Accessories company specialising in personalised Pet Tags and Bandanas. We believe that all dogs deserve the very best and that’s why we keep our production and design in-house at our Australian headquarters.
2. What made you start your business?
When we adopted our fluff-ball Coco in the middle of 2018 she brought with her bundles of cuteness. But finding a dog tag that looked as sweet as her was a struggle.
After searching high and low we ended up creating our own just for her. It was so sweet that we couldn’t keep it to ourselves and wanted to share it with the world! So, after a lot of hard work from our entire team, Bright Star Buddies was born.
We’re massive fans of all kinds of dogs, and we’re so lucky to have Coco with us at work everyday!

3. How does your business differ from others?
We pride ourselves on having the highest quality products and a seamless online ordering system for personalising our pet accessories. These are boutique quality items without the hefty price tag and they’re made to last!
4. What has been the biggest challenge and/or surprise for you about your business?
Our biggest challenge was just deciding when to launch our brand. We invested so much time into ensuring we had gorgeous designs, the best quality products and an easy to navigate website. Our priority was to give our customers the best possible shopping experience from that first click on our website to the moment they see our products on their furry family members.
Our greatest surprise has been that our customers have been ordering multiple designs for their pets. People aren’t stopping at just one Pet Tag, they’re ordering them to coordinate with different outfits and valuing them like a piece of jewellery. It’s fantastic.
5. Has anything surprised you about pet owners?
Nothing has surprised us about pet owners because we love our own pets as much as our customers do. Everyone just wants the best for their pets, the same way that any parent wants the best for their kids. Our pawrents love gifting their babies beautiful products and that’s what drives us to continue creating gorgeous designs for our families.
6. What pets do you have? Do they take part in your business?
Our office is basically puppy heaven. Most of our employees have dogs and they’ve just about all visited our office as some point. At the head of our whole operation though is Coco. She runs things and keeps us in check. She’s so beautiful and she’s the very reason we started this part of our business.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate to see our products on so many pets and we can’t wait to surprise our customers with our next design collection.
