The biggest challenge for pet owners is having to leave their pet behind each time they intend to travel. This is because some destinations do not allow pets inside. However, there are several travel destinations which allow you to take your buddy along during your travel. Some airlines are also offering special travel facilities to ensure your pet is safe and comfortable during travel. Here are some of the best destinations for your dog:

1. San Francisco

The San Francisco people are lovers of dogs to an extent that they even have an annual dog fest where there is a baseball game during summer where dogs are welcome to attend. It is also home to several parks, some which have dogs to be off leash and some of the beaches also allows dogs in. Moving around San Francisco is also easy since dogs are also allowed on public transport vessels which include, trains and buses.

2. New York

If you plan on visiting New York with your dog, then you and your dog are going to have a smooth journey. Whatever you might need for your dog is readily available. This is because there are several shops where you can get your dog’s food. There are also several veterinary doctors just in case of an emergency. Dogs are also allowed in luxury hotels, so you don’t have to compromise your comfort. You can also go shopping with your dog as they are allowed to travel in pet taxis. There are over 30 off-leash parks where both you and your dog can play.

3. Austin, Texas

Texas is mostly known as the home of great live music and incredible nightlife for the party lovers. It is home to a 13-acre off-leash park known as the red bull isle park. Its large size allows dogs to freely play around and be around other dogs. Most travelers wish to see the avenues bridge famous bats and taking a stroll along the Kayak tour allows you to view the bats and walk your dog. While you are here, you can get the best photos of your pet since there are 35 professional pet photographers and there is a swimming spot exclusively for dogs.

4. Jekyll Islands

Running along the beach is an amazing experience for your dog. Leashed dogs are allowed to play in the sand and in the water. Dogs are allowed to play in almost the whole beach except the southern part which is home to the sea turtle and the migratory bird. Dogs are therefore restricted from this area so that they don’t hurt them. Most of the hotels around the area allow dogs on site.

5. Boston

There are several dog owners around here and it’s a safe area for you and your dog since you know the neighbors also love canines. Bar owners sometimes offer yuppy hours where dog owners are allowed to bring their buddy along as they catch some fun. Dogs can also travel in the subway during off-peak hours.

6. Key  West, Florida

It has several restaurants that are dog-friendly. These include the Sheraton’s suites which have a dog beach just near the hotel. The good news is, there is no extra cost for the dog. Your dog also gets to enjoy the view of dolphins swimming at key west.

7. Colorado Springs

There are number of outdoor activities here which your dog will enjoy. These include; hiking, strolling along the park and walking trails. In the Garden of the Dogs park, dogs can take a walk while on a leash though there is a leash free area.

8. Denver, Colorado

Every dog will enjoy a visit to Denver since it has over 170 dog-friendly restaurants with special meals for the dog. For some lucky dogs who visit the Klimpton Hotel, they get to enjoy walks along the town and enjoy some music played during the Woof fest.

9. The Bar Harbor

Most national parks restrict dogs but Acacias national park is quite dog-friendly. Dogs and humans are allowed to camp here and take a walk in the bush though the dog strictly has to be on a leash. There are several dining areas for both of you and dogs are allowed in the park busses. There is also a private area where the dog can be off-leash. Your dog will surely enjoy being here.

10. Michigan

The Sundling park has nice sandy beaches and grassy dunes which your dog will surely enjoy. Although the dog has to be on leash, walking along the beach is also fun.

Many areas are finally accommodating dogs which saves you the hustle of asking your friends and family to take care of them for you. However, before you set out, ensure that your dog is vaccinated, and pack all the things you might need along the way.
