PET PRODUCT PREVIEW: PETZICONNECT
Connect with your pet
Do you worry about your pet when you leave them alone? Does your pet fret? Or even suffer from separation anxiety? Or do they simply get bored?
This pet product could solve these worries. The Petziconnect, made by Petzila, is a device that connects owner with their pets using the latest technology. And I’m keen to know what you think about the idea.
There’s an HD camera so you can see your pets, 2-way audio so you can hear your pet and they can hear you. And it releases treats!
Watch more about it here…
So I can imagine how good this will be if we need to monitor, or want to watch, our cats and dogs when they are alone. We can occupy them by releasing treats every so often. And we can even train them to be quiet in our absence (by releasing a food treat with a touch of our iphone. or other device).
Can you imagine everyone’s face when you hold a conversation with your dog or cat over the phone?! You can even take pictures or record a video of your pet.
But…
The downside is that this product is not yet on the market. It has been really successful in getting funding on Indiegogo so it will be in production soon. Do we want it here in Australia?
Well I think so. I could recommend this to so many people to help with canine and feline environmental enrichment and even solving behaviour problems.
Your opinion?
But what do you think? Would you use one? (Or more than one?) Would you use it for fun or for behaviour purposes? Let me now in the comments below or on Facebook. Look forward to hearing your thoughts (and maybe we can get a deal for Aussie owners when this is released!)
Register your interest here and subscribe to my website and I’ll let you now when it is released.

Haha, I would love to know what Ryder gets up to all day, when he is alone. I bet its something naughty!
Oh thats interesting!! I would like one! I wonder who have been digging the holes! lol…
Yes 100% I would love one please
I would love to see what they get up to! And to tell them NO when I see them doing naughty stuff lol
Hi Dr Jo, my dog, Sally is blind. Is this OK for her and help her?
I would LOVE one of these! Hehe 😉
I’d love one of these but I think it would be great for people in nursing homes or hospital who are missing their pets.
I’m sure Merlot already thinks I have eyes in the back of my head (as I keep telling him). This will convince him of that! Honestly, I’m not sure I would keep using it once the novelty wore off – and therefore a bit concerned about price and whether it would be worth it. It would be good – especially for correctable behavioural issues – if there’s a hire/rent/try- before- you- buy option.
Also, will it come with detailed instructions, suggestions and examples of uses? Like with a lot of technology, I’m sure there would be plenty of people (me included) who wouldn’t understand how to get the most out of it, so it benefits their pet. And I definitely wouldn’t use it to dispense treats in a multi-pet household!
I think it would be a great idea when I have to leave him at home inside on the bad weather days especially . Put me down for one , as my dog is a guardian dog and does suffer separation anxiety when he cant be with me .. and I suffer separation anxiety too ..lol
I would love to have one of these – even if it’s just to say hello to my puppy during the day. I miss her lots during the day (although I think she sleeps most of the time and probably doesn’t miss me at all)! This would be amazing. I was just thinking that I needed to find something like this – I could not believe it when it popped up on my news feed! Please bring it to Australia. 🙂
Thanks for providing your feedback. I think a lot of us would like to own this product!
Please keep comments coming – much appreciated. Jo
Well…. when I first saw it I thought wow seems like a great gadget. Then I watched the video. As much as I love the thought and idea behind it what about the dog(s) that decide to help themselves to the treats…. It is after all a treat dispenser right!?… Sill I’d give it a go to see if it was dog proof – is it??? I’d be happy to test it – or rather I’m sure my dogs would…
